Mask Policy: Update on 4/18

Posted on by Danceworks News

Danceworks is committed to keeping our students, staff, and faculty safe and we will continue to do so with our systems and cleaning protocols.

ADULT CLASS MASK POLICY
With the positive trends in Covid cases state-wide, Danceworks will be moving to “masks optional” effective on April 18 for adult classes only. We still ask that masks are still worn in all common areas.

YOUTH CLASS MASK POLICY
Many families in our youth classes have told us that they chose a Danceworks class because of the safety protocols we have in place. Because of this reason and the fact that our youth students have committed to a full 20 weeks of classes, we felt strongly that we should not make any changes to our mask requirements for youth classes until after the end of our winter/spring session of classes. Therefore, we will require masks to be worn in our youth classes through the end of the session and any changes made will take place for the summer session.

GENERAL STUDIO REMINDERS:

  • Masks are still required for ALL STUDENTS in COMMON AREAS
  • While masks will be optional in our adult classes any individual who feels more comfortable wearing a mask is encouraged to do so.
  • Stay home if you are not feeling well.
  • Get tested if you are having any Covid symptoms and contact us if you have a positive test result. We will notify students if they’ve been exposed to Covid, however, information on where the exposure came from will remain confidential.
  • Milwaukee County Covid community levels are now deemed “low.” Use this link to check levels in your community.

Our sincere thanks to our students and families for their cooperation and understanding during these unprecedented times. We will continue to keep you informed as we navigate the next steps in the coming days and weeks ahead.

We are recommending that students wear 1 of the following masks in common spaces/youth classes:

-2-layer fabric face mask
-A disposable paper face mask
-N-95 or K-95 face mask

Please note: A handkerchief/bandana is not an acceptable form of face mask covering.
