Friday nights just got even better!! Grab a partner or a group of friends and start your weekend with a lesson guaranteed to add a spring to your step and a smile to your face. Join instructor, Jacqui Lefebvre, on the beautiful Milwaukee Riverwalk right outside Danceworks doors and enjoy summer in a new way. Bad weather? No problem. We’ll take the dance party inside to the studio. After the one-hour lesson, stay for a drink and to mingle a bit. One drink (beer, wine or non-alcoholic drink) is included in the price of the class. Danceworks presents Rhythmworks: Swingin’ Algorhythms as a part of the Danceworks DanceLAB summer concert series. Rhythmworks brings back flamenco extraordinaire Kerensa DeMars and African dance trailblazer Prince Adrian for a second year. Danceworks Artistic Director, Christal Wagner, showcases her fresh take on contemporary jazz with Danceworks Performance MKE as well as swing jazz performed by Danceworks Youth Performance Company. New to the Danceworks stage is emerging K-Pop ensemble MkeMe Crew. Special guests also include Hip Hop duo Gabi Sustache and Wezley Turner, as well as Afro Swing virtuoso Patrice Nasslang, rooting us to vernacular swing stylings of the 30’s, 40’s and today. Adult classes have on-going registration. You are welcome to join a class at any time! Danceworks has lots of class styles and times to get you moving. Our engaging virtual adult classes are also available for you to take right from your home. Sessions can be arranged around your schedule and are available in a wide range of dance styles and levels. All private sessions are with a qualified member of the Danceworks faculty who specializes in the dance style requested. It’s Tappening!, a lively tap dance concert featuring original works that celebrate the union of movement and sound. Join Danceworks on Tap and guest performers to experience the diversity of percussive dance and catch the rhythm!
Choreographers for this exciting show include Danceworks On Tap Artistic Director, Amy Brinkman, as well as company members Tori Isaac, Gabi Sustache, and Tina Wozniak. Professional tap dancer and Danceworks faculty member Richard Ashworth will also be setting choreography on the company as well as creating new work with Danceworks Tap Performance Workshop.
