Swing (into some fun!) Workshop Series
February 9, 16, 23: Swing & Lindy Hop
6:30-7:45pm | Regular Class Rates Apply
This workshop series will cover the basics of swing dance and highlight a few popular swing dance styles. Each workshop will concentrate on rhythm, musicality, and lively swing dance patterns. No partner, no problem! Dancers will rotate partners. You are welcome to bring a partner, however, both dancers MUST be registered for the class. Whether you are new to swing dance or have prior experience, all are invited to join!

Lions and Tigers, and Bears, OH MY! Explore and learn all about the wonders of the animal kingdom on a day off from school. Dance, theater, visual art, and much more will be part of each school day off workshop experience.

Danceworks Performance MKE presents: Biome
February 29-March 3 @ Danceworks Studio Theatre
In Biome, Gina Laurenzi creates a choreographic ecosystem where multiple elements of the visual and sonic are nestled in an undercurrent of wonder. Drawing inspiration from her experiences scuba diving, Laurenzi builds an aquatic world where creatures known, and imaginary, are danced to life by Danceworks Performance MKE. Laurenzi’s current research on wonder, awe, and the Anthropocene intersect and fuse as the company of artists leads the audience into a sensorial immersive experience. Original compositions by collaborator Allen Russell provide a haunting soundscape and transport the viewer into the underwater world of Biome.

This scholarship opportunity is meant to give financial support and/or field experience to a deserving individual who has a passion for dance. Paulette always encouraged her two daughters Kim and Kristin to let their lights shine. It is the way she lived her life and through this scholarship, her light will keep shining and illuminating dancers in the studio and on stage. This scholarship is intended for Danceworks students, who are identified as need-based students and are in pursuit of training and/or mentorship with Danceworks and its staff. Students of all ages may apply for a scholarship for an individual program, class, full year of programming and/or field experience with mentorship.

You are welcome to join a class at any time! Danceworks has lots of class styles and times to get you moving. Our engaging virtual adult classes are also available for you to take right from your home. From Barre Workout, to K-Pop and Contemporary (and so much in between)…there’s something for everyone at Danceworks!

Private lessons are a great way to prepare for an upcoming audition or special event or to give you a boost of confidence on the dance floor.
Sessions can be arranged around your schedule and are available in a wide range of dance styles and levels. All private sessions are with a qualified member of the Danceworks faculty who specializes in the dance style requested. Lesson material is based on your individual needs and moves at a pace that is comfortable for you. Private lessons can be scheduled as a single class or on an ongoing basis.
