Did you know that Danceworks is one of 14 Members of the United Performing Arts Fund (UPAF), an organization that is critical in helping Milwaukee arts organizations provide the unique and diverse programming our community depends on and loves?
We are joining forces with UPAF and its other 13 Member organizations to raise an additional $3 million for the arts in the final weeks of the 2024 UPAF Campaign, which runs through Aug. 31.
Southeastern Wisconsin’s performing arts sector is vibrant and diverse because it is home to a broad range of organizations of all sizes and focuses. While each of us has something different to offer, we are each other’s biggest cheerleaders. A strong arts community starts with strong arts groups, and we are lucky to be part of a community that embraces and celebrates collaboration.
UPAF funding is truly the backbone of our operations. Each year, individuals and companies across the region join together to support our arts ecosystem through UPAF, providing our organization with critical operating support that ticket sales alone cannot cover. And because Wisconsin ranks 50th out of all 50 states for government support of the arts, UPAF funding is critical to the work that we do.
