About the Show:
This DPMKE curated concert features the ideas of the performers and guest artists of DPMKE as they explore the impacts of labels, their danger to society, and the liberating effects of restructuring the societal labels around us. In a curious investigation of the internal assignment of ideas we apply to ourselves and others on a daily basis, Danceworks aims to heighten the voices of the BIPOC and LGBTQ+ company and community members. In this concert, we collectively break down the use of stereotypes, internal bias, fear, stigma, shame and the inability to separate a person from a label dubbed by society and/or self.
