This month we are putting a spotlight on dancer and choreographer, Sean Dorsey, in honor of Trans Day of Visibility (March 31).
Tune into our social media as we celebrate the joy, strength and courage of transgender and nonbinary people. We are choosing to use our platform as an educational dance resource to celebrate our roots, our gaps and encourage our community to continue growing their understanding of the cast history of dance. 414 Day AKA Milwaukee Day!
Calling all dancers and movers! Danceworks MKE is offering a variety of specialty classes for $4.14 in celebration of 414 Day! All participants who attend class on April 14 will receive a coupon to take up to 4 classes at a discounted rate of $14/class starting April 15 through April 30. Hope to see you there!

Over 1,200 fourth, fifth and sixth grade students in 48 South Eastern Wisconsin classrooms from 38 schools will show off their rhythmic dancing skills at the Danceworks Mad Hot Rhythm Competition on Thursday, April 25th! The public is invited to the UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena (400 W. Kilbourn Ave. in Milwaukee) beginning at 10:00am to cheer on students as they compete in Afro Fusion, Swing Tap and Samba styles of dance as part of the Danceworks Mad Hot Rhythm program.

This scholarship opportunity is meant to give financial support and/or field experience to a deserving individual who has a passion for dance. Paulette always encouraged her two daughters Kim and Kristin to let their lights shine. It is the way she lived her life and through this scholarship, her light will keep shining and illuminating dancers in the studio and on stage. This scholarship is intended for Danceworks students, who are identified as need-based students and are in pursuit of training and/or mentorship with Danceworks and its staff. Students of all ages may apply for a scholarship for an individual program, class, full year of programming and/or field experience with mentorship.

Private lessons are a great way to prepare for an upcoming audition or special event or to give you a boost of confidence on the dance floor.
Sessions can be arranged around your schedule and are available in a wide range of dance styles and levels. All private sessions are with a qualified member of the Danceworks faculty who specializes in the dance style requested. Lesson material is based on your individual needs and moves at a pace that is comfortable for you. Private lessons can be scheduled as a single class or on an ongoing basis.
