FAQs

What classes are invited to perform in the Showcase?

ALL classes, except the Tiny Dancer class (ages 2.5-3) on Wednesday at 3:30 pm, are invited to perform in the annual showcase. We feel that the Tiny Dancers are just a little too young to be part of this performance opportunity but we hope to see those Dancers in the audience on Showcase day.

Is the Showcase a ticketed event?

Yes, anyone attending the showcase performance will need a ticket. However, dancers in the show do not need a ticket.

Is there a fee to participate in the Showcase?

Yes, there is a showcase fee. $55/for a child in one class.

What if my child/children are in multiple classes at Danceworks?

$55 for one dancer in one class
$85 for one dancer in two classes or two dancers in one family
$115 for three classes.

Will all of my children’s classes be in the same show?

When we decide which class will perform in which show many factors go into that decision. The goal is to keep each show to one hour and 20 minutes, to have a variety of dance styles and levels in each show, and to do our best to have children from one family in the same show. It’s not always possible to arrange for a child/children who take different classes to be in the same show. If this applies to you, please know that we will be providing 2 free tickets to those who have to attend two different shows to see their dancers. It will be your responsibility to notify our box office/front desk to reserve those tickets. This does not apply to the higher-level classes who are performing in all three shows or to members of our youth performance company.

What does the participation fee include?

Costumes
Danceworks T-shirt
Support the cost of production
Dancers may also be asked to provide simple items that they most likely already have such as a t-shirt of a certain color, jeans, leotards, tights, and shoes to accompany their costume or to serve as a base layer.

How do I pay the fee?

Showcase Registration is now closed and costumes are being ordered.

The Showcase Fee must be paid by March 11th to complete the process of ordering costumes on time. If you have not paid the showcase fee by March 11th your child may miss out on the opportunity to be part of the Showcase. Please reach out before the payment deadline to discuss any concerns or barriers that may impact your ability to pay the showcase fee.

My child is a member of Danceworks Youth Performance Company – how do I plan for Showcase?

Miss Gabi will be in touch with more details for you regarding the showcase fees specific to DYPC.
