It's the final weekend of @dpmke's concert, “Sobriquet”. Get your tickets now at dwmke.org/purchasetickets 🎟 The concert runs through Sunday, May 15th. Curated by Artistic Director Christal Wagner, this DPMKE concert features the ideas of the performers and guest choreographers, including artists Jade Charon and Li Chiao-Ping, as they explore the impacts of labels, their danger to society, and the liberating effects of restructuring the societal labels around us. In a curious investigation of the internal assignment of ideas we apply to ourselves and others on a daily basis, Danceworks aims to heighten the voices of the BIPOC and LGBTQ+ company and community members. In this concert, the Company is joined by Danceworks Intergenerational Performance Company and Danceworks Youth Performance Company as they aim to collectively break down the use of stereotypes, internal bias, fear, stigma, shame and the inability to separate a person from a label dubbed by society and/or self.
