Join our Danceworks team by volunteering as an usher at one of our many performances, supporting our community engagement programming, or lending a hand with various administrative projects. By volunteering, you can be the driving force that connects creativity and community through dance and other arts. 

Danceworks is truly thankful for the support and time given by all of our volunteers who help us fulfill our mission daily.

Current Volunteer Opportunities

Performance Volunteers

From July 29-30, DanceLAB will present Ignite: A Hip Hop Dance Experience. From August 11-13, DanceLAB will present Danceworks On Tap: What’s Tappenin’?!. On August 19, DanceLAB will present DanceLAB TeenOn September 16, DanceLAB will present Get It Out There.

*Ushers may be needed up to one hour prior to the show’s start time, and will be able to see the performance free of charge.

Work-Study Program

Danceworks is currently seeking dancers who would like to work at our Water Street studio in an hour-for-hour exchange for classes.

Community Engagement Volunteers
Tap Shoe Maintenance Required!

Now that Danceworks Mad Hot Ballroom & Tap’s 2017 season is complete, we need your help maintaining our program materials – especially tap shoes! Danceworks is looking for several volunteers to repair tap shoes at the Milwaukee Youth Arts Center (325 W Walnut St) on Thursdays. Times and dates are flexible, so please include your availability.
