Back by popular demand! Can’t find time for fitness during the week? Join our most popular barre workout instructors for a special series of Sunday workouts! Barre Workout fuses Pilates, yoga and resistance training with ballet barre work and dance, and is appropriate for all ability levels. Using inspiring music and various props, this workout is fun, motivating, and continuously moving.

 

Comfortable, non-restrictive clothing and bare feet or ballet shoes can be worn for Barre Workout. Bring or borrow a yoga mat, free weights and a Pilates ball!


Friday Night Zumba

Dates: Fridays, July 13-August 24

Arturo’s Zumba workshop is back, and this time the class is on Fridays from 6:15-7:15pm. What a great way to end the work week!


World Dance Workshop Series

Flamenco Dates: Wednesdays, Aug 8, 15 & 22

Time: 6:30-7:30pm

Flamenco is a Spanish art form made up of three parts: guitar playing (“guitarra”), song (“cante”), and dance (“baile”). Flamenco originated in the southern regions of Spain, but it’s thought to be influenced by many world cultures, including Latin American, Cuban, and Jewish traditions. This workshop series will focus on arm/hand gestures and fun stomping footwork combination. Enter the world of flamenco filled with passion, precision, and energy. Female students should wear a leotard or fitted top, skirt/fitted pants/exercise pants, and covered-toe shoes with a thick heel (preferred: character dance shoe or flamenco shoe). Male students should dress in comfortable clothing and wear short, flexible boots or hard-soled shoes.


Intro to Dance Series

Ballet Dates: Sundays, September 9, 16, 23, 30

Contemporary Dates: Sundays, October 7, 14, 21, 28

Jazz Dates: Sundays, November 4, 11, 18, December 2

This series is the ideal way for the adult dancer who is new to movement to learn the basics of a dance technique along with terminology for a particular style of dance. These classes will give students the necessary skill sets to attend other drop-in classes with a greater level of confidence and success.

Zumba is a Latin-inspired workout designed to increase cardiovascular endurance, as well as help with balance and coordination. Using upbeat Latin music together with cardiovascular exercise, Zumba is aerobic dancing that is lots of fun and easy to learn.

 

POUND is a full body cardio jam session championed by fitness rebels around the world, and the fastest growing group fitness phenomenon inspired by the infectious, energizing fun of drumming!

 

Pilates utilizes breath, alignment, mobility and strength to bring your entire body back into balance, enhance your posture and teach you functional healthy movement. Build awareness between your mind, body and breath to leave feeling connected and centered. Pilates is a great way to cross train and complement dancing or other athletic pursuits! (Mats and props provided.)
