Bollywood Sunday Series

Dates: Sundays, November 4, 11, 18 & December 2

This 4-week series will focus on one dance: Dappan kuthu, from Tamilnadu. This is a folk dance with an emphasis on percussion. It is one of several popular genres employed in film music, mainly in Tamil cinema and other South films. This is relatively informal and shares its emphasis on percussion with older folk dances of Tamil Nadu, such as kummi and kolattam.

Intro to Dance Series: Jazz

Dates: Sundays, November 4, 11, 18, December 2

Time: 11:00am-12:00pm

This series is the ideal way for the adult dancer who is new to movement to learn the basics of a dance technique along with terminology for a particular style of dance. These classes will give students the necessary skill sets to attend other drop-in classes with a greater level of confidence and success.

Dance Fitness Series: Pilates

Dates: Wednesdays, November 7, 14, 28, December 5

Time: 6:15-7:15pm

Instructors: Julia Edwards

Pilates utilizes breath, alignment, mobility and strength to bring your entire body back into balance, enhance your posture and teach you functional healthy movement. Build awareness between your mind, body and breath to leave feeling connected and centered. Pilates is a great way to cross train and complement dancing or other athletic pursuits! (Mats and props provided.)

Ballroom & Latin Styles: Swing Dance

Dates: Fridays, November 9, 16, 30, December 7 (no class 11/23)

Time: 6:30-7:30pm

Instructor: Jacqui Lefebvre

Cost: All regular adult payment options available
