The 2014-15 DPC Season

Fairy Queen Fantasy

June 19-20, 2015 (rain date June 21)
Lynden Sculpture Garden | 2145 W. Brown Deer Road | Milwaukee

DPC reunites with our friends at Milwaukee Opera Theatre and co-presenter Lynden Sculpture Garden to take opera out of doors, with an adaptation of Purcell’s 1692 masterpiece, The Fairy Queen. Titania, Oberon and a drunken poet inhabit the estate of Lynden Sculpture Garden (map). As you stroll the grounds with them, expect to encounter masques and music for an unforgettable celebration of the solstice.

The performance will be approximately one hour in length. Children under 10 years of age are free.

BreatheGraphicCycles of life, seasons, tides and breath inspired dances that came to life on Danceworks Performance Company’s Breathe. DPC resident choreographers set new and revived works along with guest musicians/composers of the Cadance Collective. Janet Lilly’s Requiem, an exuberant and unabashedly kinetic celebration of dancers and dancing, choreographed in honor of the late choreographer and UWM Professor of Dance, Ed Burgess, brought DPC together with guests from the Milwaukee dance community. Breathe was a celebration of the ongoing journey of life!
