Audition to be a Danceworks Mini!

Saturday, Jul. 29, 2:00-3:15pm | Ages 7-12

Interested in additional performance opportunities and exploring more dance styles at Danceworks? Audition for our newest and youngest performance group, Danceworks Minis!

Audition Information:

  • Audition will consist of a ballet warm up as well as both a hip hop and jazz combination.
  • Tappers should bring tap shoes.
  • Form fitting clothes or dance apparel should be worn so body lines are clearly visible. Hair should be pulled away from face.

Audition for a Danceworks studio scholarship!

Sunday, July 30, 12-2 pm | Ages 12-18

Danceworks’ scholarship program offers unique opportunities for committed dancers to refine their skills, broaden their dance vocabulary, and work with Danceworks’ highly trained, experienced professional dancers and dance educators.

This scholarship audition is open to any motivated dancers who are not currently members of Danceworks Youth Performance Company. Dancers auditioning must have a minimum of three years of consistent dance training and the desire, drive and commitment to improve technical skills, range and expression through concentrated dance training.

Scholarship students will be required to take a minimum of two classes per week. The scholarship will cover full or partial tuition for classes September 6-June 2.

Audition Information:

  • Audition will consist of  ballet warm up, a contemporary/jazz combination and a short tap combination.
  • Form fitting clothes or dance apparel should be worn so body lines are clearly visible. Hair should be pulled away from face.
  • Video auditions are approved on a case by case basis. Video audition requests must be emailed to Amy Brinkman-Sustache no later later than August 26, 2017.

DPC Guest Artist Auditions

Sunday, Sep. 10, 12:00-3:00pm | Ages 18+

What: MKE Dance Theatre Network Day
Where: UW-Milwaukee, Mitchell Hall 256
Participants are invited to mingle with 18 artistic directors and independent movement-theater artists within the Milwaukee dance theatre community. The event features a two-hour long master class including a movement warm-up, dance phrase work, and a variety of theatrical and improvisation-based sessions lead by dance theatre professionals from the Milwaukee community.

During this event, Danceworks Performance Company will audition dancers/movers interested in an eclectic range of work and a collaborative rehearsal process, to fill limited positions for guest artists on the company’s 2017-18 concert season. Those auditioning should be prepared to learn phrase work and improvise, as well as indicate rehearsal availability Wednesdays 12:00-4:00; Thursdays 6:45-9:45; and Fridays 12:00-4:00 from December 2017- April 2018.

DYPC Junior & Senior Company Auditions

Danceworks Youth Performance Company (DYPC) seeks male and female dancers ages 12-18 who have one or more years of consistent dance training in any style. Dancers will be divided into Junior & Senior Company Groups based on age, experience and ability.

Did you miss the DYPC summer audition on June 22? Attending the scholarship audition on July 30 (details above) will count as a makeup audition for those interested in the youth company. Last chance!

Intensive Study Scholarship (ISS) Audition

The Intensive Study Scholarship is for intermediate to advanced dancers ages 16 through adult who have the desire, drive and commitment to improve their technical skills, range and expression through concentrated dance training and faculty feedback. Scholarship covers one session. The Intensive Study Scholarship is an ongoing program.
