On Halloween Night…

The wind blows a chilly fall breeze, sending leaves tumbling down the street. It’s Halloween night. As the clock strikes 6:00 pm, house lights flutter on, and Trick-or-Treaters begin to flood the streets. A group of teens are “too cool” for the spook-tacular fun happening outside. Instead, the teens challenge one another to make it through an evening of horror movies. After hours of watching ghastly movie monsters causing mayhem, their own minds start playing tricks on them…

Enchanted

Fall into the magic of the season with Danceworks Youth Performance Company & guests! Our evening begins at a holiday gathering. As dancers begin to head home, we are swept up into the beauty of a fresh snowfall. Mystical encounters from various creatures occur and each visits whispering the magic of winter.

Within the Labyrinth

To escape their cruel Aunt Marjorie, two sisters discover a world of mystery in a dust-covered attic. With the discovery of an old board game containing a portal to an alternate world, the sisters encounter unearthly adventures that force them to overcome obstacles they could have never imagined. As they continue to travel deeper into this dark world, the creatures become unfathomable and unnerving – and the sisters realize they must bravely search for a passage back to the attic before it’s too late.

DanceLAB Teen

at the Danceworks Studio Theatre

This concert featured original work from members of our own Danceworks Youth Performance Company (DYPC) as well as work developed by dancers from our upper level technique classes. DYPC Artistic Manager and Danceworks Performance Company member Gina Laurenzi worked in collaboration with instructor Julia Edwards and the dancers to create new choreography and structured improvisations on a theme.
