Danceworks Artistic Director Dani Kuepper will present the latest installment of Get It Out There, a twice yearly concert of works in progress by emerging and established artists through the Danceworks DanceLAB. A variety of genres, including contemporary, classical Indian Kathak (in one instance fused with tap dance!), hip hop, and ballet/jazz fusion will comprise the two distinct shows.

Colin GawronskiLighting Designer & Stage Manager


Colin Gawronski is a graduate of UW-Milwaukee’s Theatre Program and Milwaukee native. Colin currently works as the master electrician in the Studio Theater at Skylight Music Theater. He has worked with such local companies as Milwaukee Chamber Theater, Renaissance Theaterworks, Optimist Theater, Milwaukee Opera Theatre, UWM Dance, Danceworks Inc., Next Act, Chamber Theatre, Kohl’s Wild Theater, PrideFest Milwaukee and Bard and Bourbon. Colin has also worked with the Sacramento Music Circus, the Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival and with the Indianapolis and Chicago Fringe Festivals. Favorite productions include: Russian Transport, Frankie and Johnny, Stories From a Life, The Glass Menagerie, Serendipity, Mauritius, Thrill Me, In A Black Mood, Gruesome Playground Injuries, My Fair Lady, Lamps for My Family, and Vagabondare. Give Love Always.

Nadin Bailey: Gather.Repeat.Look Back


Nadin Bailey graduated from the University of Milwaukee with a BFA in Contemporary Dance in the spring of 2015. Her dance background prepared her for a career as a Massage Therapist. Nadin has husband and 2-year-old son that continue to light up her life everyday. Most of her time is spent taking care of her family but every now and then she has time to revisit her love of dance.

Fusion Dance Collective: In My Blood/Marchin’ On


Fusion Dance Collective is a group of dancers that have come together in Milwaukee to share our love of dance. Our experiences with dance began as dancers and evolved to teaching dance classes, choreographing and dancing for college dance groups all the way to our current dance group. As a group we have choreographed/performed at Live at the Peck, Danceworks’ Get It Out There, Fringe Festival and more.

Hannah Garcia: The (un) Answered Questions


Hannah Garcia has been dancing for almost her entire life, but feels that she did not become a dancer until she started dancing with Kanopy Dance Company. The summer of 2016 is when she first started extensively studying the Graham Modern technique. Through Kanopy, she has had the opportunity to study a variety of modern techniques, her favorites being Graham, Sokolow, and Limón. Not only has she had the opportunity to study a variety of techniques, but also has been able to work with a variety of choreographers that have vastly different backgrounds.

Piper Morgan Hayes: Bee Stings & Oil Pouring: The “Super (man)”


Piper Morgan Hayes is a quirky human.  She holds a BFA in Contemporary Dance from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts and a MFA in Dance from Hollins University.  She has served as a Guest Artist and Master Teacher at several universities and currently teaches at UWW.  As an artist, she is continually looking for inspiration, growth, awareness and weightlessness through music and introspective studies.  Thanks, and love, to all who support her zany dance efforts!

Catey Ott Thompson: Wild Hearts


Catey Ott Thompson, director of Catey Ott Dance Collective since 2005, has a BFA and MFA from UWM. She resides in Milwaukee after dancing in NYC for 14 years for Soundance, Heidi Latsky, Allyson Green, Sean Curran, Bill Young, Eun Jung Choi, and others. Catey is a personal trainer, yogi, and Pilates instructor.  Her company has performed all over NYC, Milwaukee, Madison, and Chicago.  She currently teaches at Marquette University, Milwaukee Ballet, and Danceworks.

River East Dance | Katherine Zavada: Gershwin: 3 Preludes


River East Dance, led by Katherine Zavada, offers ballet for adults at all levels; from those with little or no training to Intermediate/Advanced classes for the more experienced dancers. Attention is given to preventing injury while improving technique in a fun, supportive atmosphere.

Elisabeth Roskopf: Rise


Elisabeth Roskopf’s passion for dance began at age 6 and she has been dancing ever since. She graduated with a BA in Piano and a minor in Dance from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in 2011. She is a company member with Li Chiao-Ping Dance and Danceworks Performance Company as well as a guest artist with Wild Space Dance Company, Marlene Skog Dance, and an alumna of Catey Ott Dance Collective. Since the spring of 2014, Elisabeth has been performing in the Lake Arts Project, directed by Jennifer Miller and Karl von Rabenau of the Milwaukee Ballet. Since 2015, Elisabeth still continues to choreograph and perform her solo works with Danceworks DanceLAB Get It Out There concert series.

S.A.I.N.T.S: All Yours


S.A.I.N.T.S stands for Something All Individuals Need To See and we are a new hiphop dance crew that aims to push the limits of hiphop with interesting visuals and dynamic choreography. We are a team of 4 but for this show we will be performing with 3.

Maggie Seer: And we are all together


Maggie Seer received her BFA in Dance from UW-Milwaukee in 2016. She is a company member with Danceworks Performing Company and Wild Space Dance Company. She performs with Maria Gillespie’s Hyperlocal MKE and has performed with the Gina Laurenzi Dance Project. This is her thrid time choreographing for Get It Out There. Maggie also writes grants and teaches for Danceworks, and loves exploring the Milwaukee community.

Lindsay M. Stevens: Monster Love


Lindsay M. Stevens happily returned to Milwaukee after a decade performing and choreographing in Minneapolis, MN. Her works have been seen in Chicago, Milwaukee, Phoenix, the Twin Cities, and New York City. While at the University of MN, she had the pleasure and luck to work with members of the Trisha Brown Dance Company as well as the Merce Cunningham Dance Company. She is thrilled to be showing work at Get It Out There, and will be a guest artist at Milwaukee High School of the Arts this fall/winter.

Cyenthia Vijayakumar: Malhaar Jam & Tarana


Cyenthia Vijayakumar is a trained Kathak (Indian classical dance) dancer and is been performing and teaching the art form for several years. She has performed all over India and America in many platforms. She has performed in various prestigious platforms like Hampi Utsav – India, Mustard seed festival- US etc . She is been selected as an IndianRaga fellow for the year 2018. She is trained in Kathak from her Gurus Murari Sharan Gupta and Gurus Hari and Chetana from Bangalore, India. She is currently pursuing her Bharatanatyam training under Guru Kripa Baskaran from Milwaukee.

Kate Zavada: Gershwin: 3 Preludes


Kate Zavada danced professionally with The Vienna Operetta, Dance Circus, U.W.M. touring group, 5th room (blues and jazz group), Milwaukee Ballet.  She was co-director of Northwest Youth Ballet in Eau Claire, WI.  Her choreography includes over 50 musicals and concert pieces for Northwest Youth Ballet.  Her teaching spans 48 years.  Currently she teaches ballet for adults.
