Pre-Professional Summer Dance Program

 

The Pre-Professional Summer Dance Program (PSD) is for intermediate to advanced dancers age 16 through adult who have the desire to improve their technical and choreographic skills, range, and expression through concentrated dance training, special weekly workshops, and facutly feedback. PSD's classes and other required workshops run during the summer session (June-August). PSD is a requirement for all dancers auditioning for DPC 2 in August.

 

PSD covers one half of the regular tuition for 3 required classes and includes:

 

  • A diverse class schedule set by students and the Artistic Director with a required minimum of 3 classes/week. Students may take an unlimited number of classes with the PSD.
  • Required weekly workshops. Workshops will be held Tuesday nights 8:30-10:00 pm and will be instructed by Dani Kuepper (DPC Artistic Director), DPC Company Members, Danceworks Professional Teaching Staff, and Andrea Hill Johnson (DPC 2 Artistic Director).
  • Open showings held on Tuesday night 9:30-10:00 pm at the end of each 3-4 week session with each instructor. Showings will be held at Danceworks and are open to friends and family.

 

Auditions for the summer 2010 PSD program have already been held. Auditions for the summer 2011 program will be held in May 2011.
