Audition-Based Scholarship


Sunday, July 30, 12-2 pm | Ages 12-18

Danceworks’ scholarship program offers unique opportunities for committed dancers to refine their skills, broaden their dance vocabulary, and work with Danceworks’ highly trained, experienced professional dancers and dance educators.

This scholarship audition is open to any motivated dancers who are not currently members of Danceworks Youth Performance Company. Dancers auditioning must have a minimum of three years of consistent dance training and the desire, drive and commitment to improve technical skills, range and expression through concentrated dance training.

Scholarship students will be required to take a minimum of two classes per week. The scholarship will cover full or partial tuition for classes September 6-June 2.

Audition Information:

  • Audition will consist of  ballet warm up, a contemporary/jazz combination and a short tap combination.
  • Form fitting clothes or dance apparel should be worn so body lines are clearly visible. Hair should be pulled away from face.
  • Video auditions are approved on a case by case basis. Video audition requests must be emailed to Amy Brinkman-Sustache no later later than August 26, 2017.

Danceworks is currently seeking dancers who would like to work at our Water Street studio in an hour-for-hour exchange for classes. Duties include cleaning, studio maintenance and light administrative tasks that are usually scheduled on our studios’ off-hours on a weekly basis.

Period of Employment: Session to Session
Fee: An hour-for-hour exchange for classes at our Water Street studio.

Intensive Study Scholarship (ISS)

The Intensive Study Scholarship is for intermediate to advanced dancers ages 16 through adult who have the desire, drive and commitment to improve their technical skills, range and expression through concentrated dance training and faculty feedback. Scholarship covers one session. The Intensive Study Scholarship is an ongoing program.

General Scholarship

Scholarships for classes, summer camps, and workshops are available to students of all ages and are awarded by merit and financial need.
